Foxtrot is a great social dance: its fun, not hard to learn, & easy to lead & follow. It is a great dance for beginners. Traditionally danced to Big Band music, it is smooth & sexy. The Foxtrot originated in 1914 in New York City by Harry Fox. It is one of the most versatile of all the ballroom dancers as it can be danced to a wide variety of music with varying tempos. From classic Foxtrot songs like Frank Sinatra's The Way You Look Tonight or Nat & Natalie Cole's romantic Unforgettable. Foxtrot shares many of the same steps with the Waltz & these two are the classic dances for wedding receptions & social events. Wedding couples usually choose one or the other as their first dance together.
